Celebrating twenty years of Total Control

In the last twenty years, the Fireblade has redefined the supersport class. Famous for providing performance, without compromising on control, it made the sports machine easier to use, yet maintained its thrilling ride.
The 2012 CBR1000RR builds on the legacy of Total Control that has shaped its predecessors for 20 years since the introduction of its original ground-breaking forerunner, the CBR900RR, in 1991.

The 20th Anniversary Edition
Created under the overall development concept of “natural evolution of Super Sports”, the 20th Anniversary Edition Fireblade shows off its years of development and engineering.
Our development team have concentrated their efforts on the chassis to enhance riding enjoyment even further. But it’s still got a few new tricks up its sleeve.
Revised fuel injection provides an even smoother power delivery, particularly at smaller throttle openings. We’ve included the latest technology like an enhanced full LCD display and optional Combined ABS. And we’ve redesigned it with a new, aggressive, dynamic styling and layered main fairing.

The enhancements don’t stop there either
With our advanced new rear shock, the 2012 model ensures smoother and more accurate response, superior damping and improved traction. Showa’s Big Piston technology on the front forks also improves tyre grip and stability under braking. While the 12-spoke cast aluminium wheels provide more consistent rigidity to work with the new forks to deliver improved handling.
Even easier to ride
To reduce the engine back-torque transmitted to the rear wheel when shifting down, we’ve added an assisted slipper clutch, increasing chassis stability under deceleration and on corner entry.
And Electronic Steering Damper an essential on such a light, compact and yet powerful machine, the Honda delivers both high-speed stability and light, responsive low-speed steering.

Getting the perfect balance
This new edition strikes the perfect balance between power and control. A motorcycle worth celebrating, and a machine that’s deserving of its heritage.
